2010 Deadlines, Dates and Events
Quarter 1 (January, February, March)

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will announce funding notices in 2010 on a program-by-program basis. The general section of the Notices of Funding Availability(NOFA) contains application instructions. The specific NOFAs will be posted at the Grants.Gov site where applications must be submitted. Funding becomes available the following year.
*USDA/Rural Development program funding is available on a fiscal year basis (October 1 – September 30). Funding allocated by Congress is generally fully available in January. Grant opportunities and deadlines can be found at the Grants.Gov site, and other program opportunities and deadlines are at Rural Development's NOFA site.
*February 26, 2010: Applications for HOME funds and Low Income Housing Tax Credits are due to the South Dakota Housing Development Authority. The Allocation Plans and applications are available at SDHDA's web site under the Developer tab.
*January 20-21, 2010: SD Department of Tourism Annual Conference, Pierre. See website for details.
*January – March: Various association legislative days – Pierre
Quarter 2 (April, May , June)
*April 6-7, 2010: Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) Annual Conference. See the GOED quarterly report for details.
*April 1-May 31, 2010: Pre-application period for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines AHP program. Sponsor applications available April 15 - May 31, 2010. Applications accepted May 1 - June 30, 2010. Training sessions available in South Dakota on April 14 in Sioux Falls for AHP and in Rapid City April 29 for Native American Programs. Quarter 3 (July, August, September)
*Unused USDA/Rural Development funds are pooled and redistributed in the third quarter of the following calendar year to accommodate equitable access. Check the USDA website for details or contact the South Dakota State office.
Quarter 4 (October, November, December)
